CRYSTAL HEALING
Crystal Healing is a non-invasive form of healing that has been used for thousands of years. Traditionally it was seen as a very ‘spiritual’ healing method, however as understanding has grown, a more scientific viewpoint shows us how the crystalline structure and chemical compound of certain minerals can influence the physical and spiritual bodies. So whilst respectfully saluting the spiritual origins of the past, a more modern and holistic approach is adopted.
Holistic Crystal Therapy focuses on the main chakras of your body, your aura and the meridien points similar to those used in acupuncture, but not in an invasive way. Only those crystals believed to have therapeutic abilities are used and they are successful in therapy as they 'vibrate' at a level that is complementary to those vibrations of the human body. Some say they act like a tuning fork does for an orchestra - the body's DNA gets slightly out of tune and is guided back into wellbeing.
Crystals are cleansed and prepared prior to each treatment and then placed either on or next to the body. The therapist will select the most appropriate stones for you based on colour, intuition, structure and mineral content or knowledge of particular therapeutic values. Some of the more commonly used stones are Clear Quartz, Amethyst, Rose Quartz, Tourmaline, Lapis Lazuli, Jasper, Garnet, Ruby and Agates.
The treatment takes a ‘hands-off’ approach and you remain fully clothed. It is not uncommon to only feel the benefits of hands off therapy after a short while or a few treatments.
RELAXATION THERAPY
Relaxation Therapy helps you determine where stress and tension physically affects you and equips you with the skills and techniques to eliminate the occurrence of tension.
Upon successful mastering of the techniques you will experience a state of deep or ‘theta’ relaxation where you are conscious of your body being physically relaxed, whilst your mind remains aware but chooses not to respond to distractions. This state is a natural one we go through prior to falling asleep however we cannot usually choose to achieve it. Even a short while in this state can be very rejuvenating.
You remain fully clothed throughout the treatment and will lie on a couch. Once you have been assessed the therapist will guide you through specific breathing, muscular relaxation, visualisation and other techniques that assist you to get back in control of your body’s natural reactions. Some of these techniques require practice to realise maximum benefit. The main objective though of the session is for you to experience deep relaxation.
Relaxation Therapy embraces ‘hands off’ techniques from many different disciplines such as Aromatherapy and Reflexology. The aim is to use techniques that influence or stimulate a physiological response from you body, which helps with the goal of realigning or retraining the link between your mind and your body.
